2019 Year in Review

A letter from the CEO

We started the year 2019 with a great ISE show in Amsterdam! ISE 2019 was a huge success; more than 1000 people stopped by our booth, we launched the Neets Control – UniForm, and last but not least, had many exciting discussions about how to make life easy for presenters.

Neets Control - UniForm was launched and ready for shipping at the end of January. To our great joy, it was also recognized as "Best New Control System" in rAVe [pubs]'s Best of ISE 2019 Awards. Since then, Neets Control - UniForm has been installed in many meeting rooms and learning spaces, with the biggest installation being at the University of Copenhagen.

At ISE, we also launched our new cooperation with Barco and their Overture monitoring software. UniForm and other Neets keypads are now integrated into the Overture platform and can provide in-room control in any installation that uses Overture.

We always use our presence at ISE as an opportunity to test ideas and concepts on customers and integrators. This year, we tested a new product concept; the ability to start video calls easily by connecting a standard USB-A cable to a computer. We talked to hundreds of users and integrators and when we got back to Denmark, we used all the insights to create Collabo by Neets. Collabo is an all-in-one solution that provides video, audio and screen mirroring with just one cable. When using a laptop to host video calls in a meeting room, users connect the USB cable and the mic, camera and audio are transferred to Collabo and the display automatically. This makes starting video calls a breeze for users. Collabo by Neets was launched and shipped in May.

Project Designer, our drag 'n' drop configuration software, has undergone significant improvements and several new features were launched throughout the year. These include:

  • An important milestone of 3000+ device drivers
  • The support of multiple touch panels for combined rooms
  • The new live monitoring function

Project Designer will always be at the heart of Neets control installations. We will continue to invest heavily in making AV control even more simple to configure while enabling technicians to create even more user-friendly interfaces and experiences.

Neets' main focus is to understand users, their needs and their challenges. This enables us to turn user insights into products and solutions that make a real difference for them. Working with users, end-customers, resellers and distributors is what makes it possible for us to create successful solutions. This has been the main focus for the company during the past years and this user-driven way of thinking is the foundation for Neets' current and future success. Danish design is not only defined by how products look, but it’s also about the full product experience, including solving real problems when installing and using technology. We are committed to developing solutions that make a real difference for our users and customers.

We are proud to deliver products to a very large number of installations worldwide. These include thousands of classrooms in Paris, France, numerous universities and large corporations around the world, many K12 schools and meeting rooms, and last but not least thousands of huddle rooms. Even though technology is changing at an ever-increasing rate, users experience the same problems as they did 10-15 years ago. We might want to bring new possibilities and features into meeting rooms and learning spaces, but teachers and presenters cannot keep up. They still experience a lot of frustration with AV equipment daily when starting up meetings or lectures. Providing simple and consistent control interfaces in every room makes it easy for users to interact with technology. The user interface can have the same look and feel, remaining consistent and recognizable for users; regardless of the type of room or the equipment being controlled. This consistency is what makes life easy for users.

2019 was also the year where we welcomed several new distributors into the Neets family. AmberTech in Australia and New Zealand started up just after ISE, followed by ALS in the Gulf Region, BVT in Spain, Kern & Stelly in Germany and EET Europarts in Finland. We are proud and happy to welcome our new and professional distribution partners and will do everything we can to develop the Neets brand in each country.

One of the main focus areas for Neets in 2019 has been our online presence and changing our mindset to create more online activities. It’s hard to predict the future, but I am confident that the future of any business is digital. Therefore, being more present online is a significant part of our strategy. If you haven't moved your mindset to think digital – maybe 2020 is the right time? Our focus is to support our distributors and partners with online materials and tools.

As 2020 is just around the corner, we prepare for the next ISE in Amsterdam with several new great products in the pipeline and hopefully another record-breaking show. Speaking of record-breaking, in 2019 we celebrated 6 record sales months, a record-breaking number of online visitors on our websites, more installations than ever before and a more focused and dedicated Neets than ever before. It’s the team at Neets that makes the difference and even though we are a small company compared to our main competitors, we believe that we can make life easy for presenters worldwide. We are all dedicated to making a difference for each other, our partners and Neets every day.

Thanks for all our distributors, resellers, end-customers and users for your support and inspiration in 2019. We look forward to continuing our cooperation in 2020 and onwards.
